THE COMICS

JUDY TENUDA: Judy Tenuta is the most famous person that ever lived. If you don't believe it just ask her! The stand-up comic/actress who describes herself as a "multi-media Bondage Goddess" and "the Aphrodite of the Accordion," is actually a caring nurturer who wakes up at 8PM to verbally abuse countless herds of mortal swine (her audience) and converts them to her signature religion "Judyism". Her fans ranging from fetuses to fossils, gays to geishas, all beg to chew her gum and kiss her feet because she is the only fun-feminist who preaches that all women should be worshipped as "Love Goddesses", and all men have an equal opportunity to become her furniture.....It could happen!

She was the very first stand-up to win "Best Female Comedian" at the American Comedy Awards. That same yeJar she became the national spokesperson for a series of Diet Dr. Pepper commercials. She has starred in her own HBO, Showtime, and Lifetime Specials and has been seen on every major talk show. Most recently she was a special correspondent for American Journal, and Entertainment Tonight. Judy has also had two smash comedy CD's and has been nominated twice for Grammy Awards for her Attention Butt-Pirates and Lesbetarians, and In Goddess We Trust. She is also the author of The Power of Judyism (Harper-Collins). Judy has produced and starred in her own feature film, Desperation Blvd. Some of her recent roles include: An ex-show girl turned wedding chaplain on General Hospital, a self-absorbed group therapist in the indy film 10 Attitudes and a Date, a small but pivotal role as the genteel trailer trash cat lady in the upcoming Hilary Duff film Material Girls. BRUCE VILANCH: Bruce is a two-faced fella: Bearded, he is one of the most sought-after comedy writers in Hollywood, winner of a bunch of Emmys and noted as the Hollywood Square just to the left of Whoopi. Shaved, he spent two years as Edna Turnblad, Baltimore housewife and superstar, on tour and on Broadway in the smash musical adaptation of the John Waters film Hairspray. Most recently, Bruce was seen on VH1’s popular fitness and nutrition reality-series, Celebrity Fit Club, which finished its third season. In addition to Hairspray, he has appeared in such legendary epics as Ice Pirates, Mahogany and The Morning After. A frequent guest on talk shows, Bruce won his Emmys for co-writing back-to-back Oscar shows with Billy Crystal. He’s written 16 Oscar-casts so far, as well as a number of Tonys, Grammys, and even Emmys, although he never got an Emmy for writing an Emmy – that would be award-show incest of the lowest order. His bizarre career was documented in the film Get Bruce!, released by Miramax and perpetually available on Buena Vista Home Video. Bruce’s one-man show, Almost Famous, tickled Off-Broadway audiences for three months and has made a number of appearances around the country. He is frequently mistaken for Brad Pitt. MARILYN PITTMAN: Marilyn’s fiery, intelligent brand of comedy has been seen in nightclubs and concert stages from Boston to Honolulu since 1991. Her performing credits include Ron Howard's 1999 film Ed TV. She stars in two nationally-distributed videos: All Out Comedy and Out For Laughs; and is featured in two books, A Funny Time To Be Gay, by Ed Karvoski, Jr., and Revolutionary Laughter by Roz Warren. She was a guest on The Durst Amendment, a 1997 PBS political comedy special. Thank You For Sharing, her first solo show, premiered at Josie's Cabaret in San Francisco in 1993. In 1996, San Francisco's Solo Mio Theatre Festival presented her second solo show, But Enough About You, a hilarious high-tech trip through the life of a new wave, new age, boomer capitalist. In 1991, she was given the G.L.A.A.D. Media Award and in 1992 was nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the San Francisco Cable Car Awards. Currently, she is a radio commentator for NPR station KQED in San Francisco. As a voice actor, her client list includes Lucasfilm, Sony, and AT&T. JOHNNY STEELE: Johnny began performing comedy in 1984 after quitting graduate school in a move his parents named: Operation $40K Down The Drain. But Johnny quickly got the hang of the craft and was soon performing at the nation's top clubs. During the next decade Johnny went on to perform at comedy festivals, win comedy competitions, log over 20 national TV appearances. In 1997 Johnny left the comedy scene to host San Francisco's Live 105 Morning Radio Show. Both the S.F. Weekly's annual readers' poll and the S.F. Publicity Club picked it the city's best show. In 1999 Johnny's career took another turn when he became co-host of KRON/Bay TV's The Show. For three years Johnny's informal interview style and outrageous ad-lib comments kept everyone laughing. Johnny is currently performing comedy as well as working on a number of web, radio, and TV projects, one of which is bound to take off due to, if nothing else, pure dumb luck. He is also working on a humorous solo show about his journey to find peace in a WalMart America gone mad with mindless consumption, endless sprawl, and bone jarring stupidity. And really, aren't we all? (www.johnnysteele.com)
