Message from David: Dear Friends, this letter is to ask for your support.

I have been involved either on the Board of Directors or Management Committee for the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation for the past five years. Funding to cover Foundation operations has declined significantly this year and we are in need of additional funds to cover operational expenses so that we can continue to help local Bay Area AIDS charities.

In the past, corporate funding covered most of the costs of running REAF, but over the past few years, corporate funding has decreased dramatically and, in order to keep the foundation going, we must raise additional funds to cover our operating costs and continue to distribute all of the proceeds from our events to the beneficiary agencies of our events. The only way we can continue to produce our "Help is on the Way" events is to raise additional funds to cover our operational expenses.

I have been involved now for 5 years as the Foundation’s Travel Coordinator and I've been touched by the generosity of so many people when it comes to giving something back, to helping make a difference in the lives of people they don't know and may never meet. But I assure you that there are people who are receiving health care that may not have, who are receiving home delivered meals who might otherwise be going hungry and who are learning how to protect themselves from becoming infected. Every dollar makes a difference when combined with other dollars.

This year our annual summer show, “Help is on the Way” will take place on August 3, 2008 at the Palace of Fine Arts here in San Francisco. It could be the last year for this show if we do not raise the funds need to cover our operational cost. If you do not know, "Help is on the Way" is Northern California's largest annual, star-studded AIDS benefit concert benefiting a variety of AIDS service agencies representing a spectrum of services throughout the Bay Area. This show will raise funds for AIDS services and provide awareness through quality entertainment. Everyone associated with this event is a volunteer from the celebrities who donate their time and talent to the volunteers who staff it.

Funds are raised by putting on one-of-a-kind performances with top talent from stage, screen, the recording industry and the best of local talent, who donate their time to support our cause - the fight against AIDS. Please take a look at the event page on this website for further details.
